Ecuador Earthquake

MYFOXNY.COM - A major earthquake struck Ecuador on Thursday morning. It happened at 6:54 a.m. local time at the epicenter.
The preliminary magnitude was 6.9. The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake was 114 miles below the earth's surface, which is very deep.
It happened about 88 miles from Ambato and 106 miles from the capital city of Quito.
There were reports of shaking in Colombia, Peru and Venezuela. The government of ecuador said earthquake shaking went on for as long as 10-minutes in some areas.
There were there were only scattered reports of damage or injury. Several houses were reported damaged in the cities of Guayaquil and Manta.
